Around the World Beauty Traveler Stephanie Flor travels to Peru and discovers Aloe Vera.

The Amazon rainforest provides a myriad of natural resources including water, oxygen, and healing plants like Aloe Vera.

Aloe Vera is grown widely throughout Peru and has been used for centuries as a healing plant to Help heal and nourish the body.On my trek to Machu Pichu we visited a locals home along the inca path. They introduced us to their #1 beauty remedy Aloe.

With over 12 vitamins, 18 amino acids, and 20 minerals, this super plant works wonders for the skin, hair, and nails.

It grows from long, green leaves and when broken, it has a sticky yellow residue.

Aloe vera can be used as

  • shampoo to treat dandruff
  • anti-bacterial properties that help clean the scalp
  • prevent hair loss
  • face lotion
  • a healing agent for sunburns
  • reduce inflammation
  • heal burns
  • mosquito repellant in the jungle
  •  produce white blood cells to slow down the aging process
  • purify organs

You must wash the aloe plant – using a sharp knife cut the spikes along the side and then cut right down the middle You can use one side of the leaf or apply the gel directly to the skin.
