Brazilian Uruku

In South America, Brazil a tribe known as  Nova Esperanca – Yawanawa Tribe have been known to create medical discoveries and beauty surrounded by natural resources. Uruko is rich in color, and has been used as a tradition adornment. Their faces and body are painted to express themselves and create sacredness from spirits with negative intensions. The village is surrounded by vibrant rainforests growing the urukum plant, an it stretches nine feet tall and produces red and green pods filled with small red seeds.The seeds are filled with a deep orange-red pigment  Once the Uruku is on the palms of your hands, you are free to create any face and body painting you desire.
